Community Meeting #1

Over 100 individuals joined us for the first Community Meeting, held February 4, 2025, at Settegast Community Center. Participants had the opportunity to answer several questions presented on large boards, take a survey, build their cross section, and talk with the project team. Results from the meeting will be posted soon!

The presentation boards are below. Please contact the project team if you would like to leave feedback or have questions about the meeting.

The board provides an overview of the Reimagine Corridor Program, Revive2Thrive Initiative, and the approach to community engagement and project development: Listen, Report, Finalize.

This board provides information about the Reimagine Commerce Street Corridor Study and the community meeting.

This board provides a timeline for the corridor study.

The board asks for community feedback on safety concerns on Commerce Street.

  • On a scale of 1 (Very Unsafe) to 5 (Very Safe), how safe do you feel using Commerce Street currently?

  • What concerns you most about safety on Commerce Street?

  • Share a story or example of a safety issue you’ve witnessed on Commerce Street.

Here, the community is asked to provide feedback on what they would like to see more of in the community.

  • What would make Commerce Street more enjoyable?

  • What would make Commerce Street feel more welcoming and reflective on the community’s character and identity?

We asked the community how they experience Commerce Street:

  • In a single word, how would you describe Commerce Street?

  • How often do you travel on Commerce Street?

  • What is your primary mode of travel?

Here we asked the community to imagine they had $100 to spend on improvements to Commerce Street. How would you distribute your $100 across the different options:

  • Wider sidewalks/multimodal paths

  • Street and sidewalk lighting

  • Drainage improvements

  • Protected bike lanes

  • Public Art

  • Vehicle lanes

  • Trees and Shade

  • Landscaping

  • Wayfinding and signage

  • Placemaking

  • Signal Improvements
